Welcome to Focus on Future — nestled in the central highlands of the sun-kissed teardrop island of Sri Lanka, Focus on Future is a community-based special needs support center founded in Kotagala by Yogavithya, a passionate educator and advocate for children and adults with special needs. We support children and adults with special needs through education, life skills training, personal development, and compassionate care. What began with just two students and a small dream inside a family home has now grown into a center supporting nearly 25 individuals.

We support children and adults with special needs through education, life skills training, personal development, and compassionate care. What began with just two students and a small dream inside a family home has now grown into a center supporting nearly 25 individuals.
To empower children and adults with special needs by providing education, life skills, emotional support, and inclusive opportunities that help them reach their
full potential and participate confidently in society.
Growing up in Kotagala, Sri Lanka, I always felt drawn toward children who struggled to learn or fit in. At that time, I did not understand terms like autism or developmental disabilities — I simply saw children who needed kindness and support.
After school, I worked in banks and finance companies for several years, but deep inside I always felt my true purpose was somewhere else. Life changed after marriage, motherhood, and several personal losses, including the passing of my father in 2019. My father, Mr. Periyadurai, was deeply respected for his social service, and his compassion became a lifelong inspiration to me.
During the COVID period I began volunteering at a special education school, and what started as compassion soon became a calling. The first child who joined me was a little girl named Prithisha. We began sessions from my home using my own child’s toys because we had very few resources. Step by step, support arrived from friends, doctors, and well-wishers.
Today our mission is simple: to create a safe, loving, and inclusive space where every child is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to grow with confidence and dignity.
